  1. Verify that your televisions are working. Irvine Online cable modem internet service will not work if cable television service is down.
  2. Verify that the power, cable or RX, and link lights are solid on your cable modem. If any of these lights are off or blinking, your cable modem internet service will not work.
  3. Verify that all cables are connected properly. This includes the RJ-45 cable running from your computer to your modem. You may want to disconnect this cable and reconnect it at each end. If you do, be sure to listen for the "click" when reconnecting.
  4. Reboot your system:
    a. Shut down your computer.
    b. Unplug the cable modem and wait 60 seconds.
    c. Plug the cable modem back in and wait for the power, cable or RX, and link lights to stay solid. This means your modem is ready and capable of accessing the internet.
    d. Turn on your computer.
    e. Check for connectivity by attempting to access the Internet.
